Repair, replace and match the profile
Lightly damaged joinery can often be filled, sanded and refinished. Where timber is charred, badly swollen or split, replacing the length, or the whole door, is usually the better repair. Doors are hung and adjusted so they close properly in their frames, and new joinery is decorated to match the room.
Period homes across Edinburgh often have deep moulded skirting and architraves that aren't stocked off the shelf. We record the existing profiles at survey so the scope allows for matching them as closely as possible.
